Petra and Marcel

They met in 2003 when Petra was still living in the United States and visiting relatives in the Netherlands. After returning to the US, they lost touch. Petra permanently moved back to The Netherlands in 2005 and with the help of network sites, reconnected with Marcel in 2009.They started a relationship that ended in a marriage proposal in October of 2010. They currently live in Purmerend, a small city on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Petra holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology from Furman University, Greenville, USA and Marcel holds a Master's degree in Physics from the TU in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. They both have artists among their friends and both love to visit the United States.

The idea

The reason for starting this site came from a sincere wish to help a friend in the United States sell his art. Petra lived in the Southern part of the US for almost 10 years. She eventually understood that the modern art her friend was creating, was difficult to sell in that part of the country. She was, however,sure that the same art would be attractive to potential buyers in her native country.Why not try to make a website to promote American artists in the Netherlands while simultaneously helping Dutch artists sell their art in the United States? Together with Marcel's wish to start his own company and being a web developer himself, the site came into existence.
